New Model Railway Releases: Cenotaph Memorial & Pillbox Bunker

We’ve added two new scenic pieces to the range, ideal for bringing a wartime or military theme to your model railway layout: a model Cenotaph memorial and a pillbox bunker.

Both models are designed to work especially well on layouts inspired by the First and Second World Wars, but they’re equally at home in later-period village, town and countryside scenes where these structures have remained part of the landscape.

Model Cenotaph Memorial

A miniature war memorial with a cross, adorned with red poppies, surrounded by flowers and benches in a model village setting.

Our new Cenotaph model makes an atmospheric centrepiece for a village green, town square, churchyard or station approach.

Finished with a tall cross-shaped monument and stepped base, the model is supplied with striking red and black remembrance wreaths, helping to create a detailed commemorative scene straight away. It could be used to represent a local war memorial commemorating those lost during the First and Second World War.

For an even more detailed scene, surround it with miniature figures, fencing, benches, flags or a small Remembrance Day gathering.

Model Pillbox Bunker

A model of an octagonal grey building with small windows, situated in a miniature landscape with grass and a tree, alongside a railway track.

Also new is our concrete-style pillbox bunker, inspired by the defensive structures constructed across Britain during the Second World War.

Its angular shape, narrow firing apertures and simple doorway make it ideal for a WWII-era railway layout, military diorama or countryside scene.

Pillboxes were often positioned near strategically important locations such as railway lines, bridges, roads and coastlines, so this model can be incorporated naturally into a railway setting. Add grass, bushes and weathering around the base to create an older structure slowly becoming part of the surrounding landscape.

Perfect for Wartime-Themed Layouts

Used together, these two models can help tell a much larger story on your layout. The pillbox can represent the defences of wartime Britain, while the Cenotaph provides a poignant reminder of the people and communities affected by both World Wars.

Whether you’re building a dedicated WW1 or WW2 model railway, adding a military scene to an existing layout, or simply looking for unusual architectural details, these latest additions offer plenty of possibilities.

The Model Cenotaph and Pillbox Bunker are available now in our shop.
